NewScientist has an article up on the effects of caffeine on productivity. I don't want to spoil the ending but it says exactly what you hoped it says. It shows some good boosts to short-term memory and improved reaction time. But as caffeine drinkers we already know that. The study is not yet far along enough to address the impact on long-term memory.
